High School Girls

New Kabaale Busega Primary School is a Day and Boarding school founded by Mr. & Mrs. Molly Wasswa (for Molly and Paul Child Care Foundation) in 1984 from the age of 4 to 14 years. The school now is being partly sponsored by the PR.  Trust since 2010. The PR. Trust pay the teacher’s salaries, children’s food and they provided text books.

The school is located in Kampala district, Rubaga division, Busega village in Kabaale zone. Molly and Paul were moved to buy a piece of land at Busega after realizing that many children were walking over 6 miles to Molly and Paul Kibuye which was the first primary orphanage school started by the couple. This caused them to open up New Kabaale Busega Primary School with a view of extending the services near to the people of the community. Because it was a new project in the area, Molly and Paul decided to add the word New. That is how the school got it’s name

The school has children from the poorest parents / guardians’ .The school has needy, orphaned and destitute children. Parents/ Guardians are asked to pay some little money as fees since the school has no sponsorship. School fees is poorly paid and some parents / guardians fail to pay at all. This causes the school fail to pay the teachers and support staff salaries regularly and to construct or renovate the school buildings. The school also couldn’t provide lunch to the children except those who could afford to pay some money for lunch but special thanks goes to the PR. Trust which enabled all the children to have lunch freely.
The school has a Parents Teacher’s Association (PTA), (This is a local voluntary organization of Parents and teachers that is intended to promote closer relations and improve the school). It is fully active in the school activities.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND COMPLETED PROJECTS

1. THE P.R. TRUST GRANT In July 2010 our school was blessed with a grant to have teachers/workers salaries paid every month totaling to UG shs 7,515,000/= sent to the school’s account. With this great support our school no longer has salary payment hardship hence the improvement in the general school standard and progress. Our gratitude to Graham , Kate and the Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir plus all the choir tour committees of 2008 and the host families in UK.

school compound2.COMPOUND
Our school has a heart for a green and beautiful compound that attracts a child to come to school, we also constructed a protective hedge around the grass to make prepare path for the children.

New School Office 3. BUILDING AN OFFICE Special thanks go to the Pearl of Africa Child Care Ltd, a UK charity for the donations they send us. With that, were able to construct an office for the school because some year back we had one but very small and it used to work as a library as well as a store.

Nursary Class4. BUILDING OF NURSERY CLASSES Still through the donations from Pearl of Africa Child Care Ltd and school fees we have been able to construct a class for the Nursery classes. Some year back we use to squeeze them on one room with separating boards.

Poultry5. POULTRY REARING In March 2011, the Irish girls came back to visit our school and donated to us 200 chicks. We were so delighted for this start because it was our prayer to start poultry rearing. The children are so happy because they do practical work in the poultry house. In August 2011, the hens started laying eggs. We believe of getting six trays a day, hence feeding our children with an egg a day and money generating project for the school.

Class Painting6. CLASS PAINTING AND DIAGRAMS Through the Pearl of Africa Child Care’s support and school fees, we were also able to paint our classes beginning with the outside while the inside is still wanting. We were also able to have educative diagrams on walls outside hence creating a good school learning environment.

Lunch7. LUNCH AT SCHOOL
Not only does the P.R. Trust pay the staff salaries but it also send us money every month to feed the school with lunch, totaling to 3,350,000/=. This has really been of great help to our school because the children no longer dose in classes due to hunger. We thank the P.R Trust for this generous gift and the privilege for feeding otherwise teaching a hungry child wasn’t easy.

Sweet sleep8. SWEETSLEEP DONATION Between July 24th to 29th, 2011; we received friends from “Sweet sleep” (A bed for every head) who donated to our school 96 beds, 96 mattresses, 96 bed sheets and pillows 96 mosquito, 96 nets and more than 96 bibles. They also made a birthday party for all the children in the school. “What a great joy we received in our lives”.

Text Books9. TEXT BOOKS: PR Trust also helped us with text books in all subjects for different classes. Now the teaching/learning process is easy for us and interesting .This was a great asset to both the teachers and the pupils.

We are also glad to report that New Kabaale Busega Primary school has been hosting and training The Pearl of Africa ChildrChoir that will be traveling to UK from mid September till November 2011. For more information please see www.pearofafrica.org.uk
